Have you ever sent a thank you card to someone who hosted a fabulous dinner or someone who gave you a very personal gift? The person receiving the card undoubtedly felt good because his or her thoughtfulness was acknowledged. The gesture was probably meaningful for you too as it led you to recall details of your experience and contemplate what you felt especially grateful for. You need not send a card or have a specific person in mind in order to get a lot from expressing thanks.  Take 10, 20, or 100 cards. You can use index cards or make your own. On each card, write down one thing you’re grateful for. Include enough detail so that when you read what you’ve written, you’ll remember the experience that provoked the thought.  You may even feel a flush of gratitude in your body. Keep these cards in a clear bowl or display the deck where you can see them most of the time.  From time to time, pick out a card at random and read your thought.  This is a great way to stay focused on the many positives that are in your life.
