I started this blog in 2010 so that I would have a special motivation to maintain a writing practice around awareness, mindfulness, and gratitude. I also wanted to use the example of my practice to encourage others to make conscious appreciation a greater part of their lives. As I committed to this practice, I found my life changed significantly. I discovered that the greatest power of gratitude was not in counting my blessings or even in remembering to say thanks to people that make a difference in my life. Expanding on basic principles of mindfulness, I discovered that the greatest power of gratitude is in understanding what I personally feel grateful for and then practicing seeing these things in the present moment.<\/p>\n<p>A collection of favorite blog posts, <strong><em>The Best of No Small Thing &#8211; Mindful Meditations<\/em><\/strong>, will be available in November of 2010 along with a guidebook on the gratitude process behind my blog posts, P<em><strong>ractice Gratitude Transform Your Life.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been a freelance writer and workshop leader for over twenty years.
