She was nervously running her fingers over some clunky jewelry when she accidentally got her index finger caught in a section of the necklace.\u00a0 We were told that maybe, if we soaped, or lathered up her hands, she’d have an easier time getting her hand free from the jewelry.\u00a0 We stood over a sink in a small restroom in a gas station just off the highway, Susan leaned over the sink, practically banging her head aginst the wall whenever we tried to get liquid soap out of the cheap metal dispenser.
