Ever hear the expression about the light bulb going off, when you can isolate a moment in time when you had a flash of insight. Years ago, I remember leaving an outdoor concert with a friend. She was nervously running her fingers over some clunky jewelry when she accidentally got her index finger caught in a section of the necklace.  We were told that maybe, if we soaped, or lathered up her hands, she’d have an easier time getting her hand free from the jewelry.  We stood over a sink in a small restroom in a gas station just off the highway, Susan leaned over the sink, practically banging her head aginst the wall whenever we tried to get liquid soap out of the cheap metal dispenser. Then, the light bulb went off. She didn’t have to wear the necklace while we were applying soap.  “Susan,’ I said. “You can take off the necklace and lather up. You don’t need to bang your head whever you add soap.”  I love getting flashes of insight. unexpected revelations. I love it when something forces you to think in some different way.
