Try this. Over the course of one day, take a photo (easy to do with you smart phone camera) of everything you see that strikes you as BEAUTIFUL. Look at the images and ask yourself What about this (image) is beautiful? Perhaps you’ve taken a shot of a mostly unremarkable flower in a garden of incredible blooms and you are struck by its audacity to grow amid outwardly more impressive company. Or, you’ve taken a photo of a six-year old child with glasses, outwardly shy and plain-looking, but obviously very observant and thoughtful. Or, you zoomed in on a piece of garbage, a food wrapper that’s been discarded and left on the street, and you think about the person who designed the piece of packaging and what might have been appealing about it before the item it wrapped was consumed. Think about what you’ve found to be beautiful says about you.
