Shoveling other people’s walks and driveways, helping with area food drives, buying from local farmers or other small businesses, checking your purse or wallet for singles or smaller denomination bills when someone asks, looking for a working pen when someone finds theirs out of ink, letting a merging driver cut into the lane you occupy, buying a box of candy sold as a fundraiser, giving a homeless person an apple from your grocery bag, holding open a door for someone… something else? Regardless of how close their address is to yours, have you received any small kindness that made you consider someone a good neighbor?  Do you think of yourself as a good neighbor? Do you make it a habit to thank someone for such gestures?
