What’s the littlest thing that made you smile today?  Coming across puppy dog on your block? A barista at Starbucks remembering how you like your morning brew? A driver at a four-way stop signaling you to proceed first? Finding money in a pocket of a pair of jeans you just took out of the dryer? Whatever it is — there’s nothing too small to be happy about.  Recall the littlest thing and hold that thought in your mind for a minute. Then longer. Practice holding good thoughts in your mind until it becomes natural to do so.  At least, practice this often enough that you recognize you can choose what you want to think about.
