Frank Sinatra made the song famous, referring to the odd sort of satisfaction he derived from living his life according to his rules despite having some regrets over the way things turned out. Many people related to his crooning the title line,  “I did it my way.”  Of course, we are all faced with a balancing act, whether to follow the dictates or suggestions of others and when to follow our gut.  It can seem wrong to do things the hard way when others that have gone through similar challenges might have suggestions on how to make things easier.  Following someone else’s steps might also fall short of producing satisfaction. Think about a time when doing something ”your way,” though involving extra work, also led to things to be especially grateful for. Write a few paragraphs about this situation.
