I’ve gotten very tired of the word AWESOME. It sometimes feels like a whole generation got lazy and wanted an easy way to announce general approval without thinking a whole lot about what exactly they were declaring as special or wonderful. Although, the word awesome is imprecise and over-used, I do like the idea of having a magic word that can suit my meaning in a multitude of contexts. The idea of being universally understood is appealing. I remember when, in some circles, BAD meant GOOD. I remember, in the book, Clockwork Orange, the phrase, “Horror Show” meant really desirable. Do you have a phrase that is magic to you and your circle? Where did it come from? What makes it special?
