Perhaps, I’m not as conscious of being as grateful for something as when I see it for the first time. A mountain at sunrise, a large body of water rolling into the shore, a young tree in spring reaching into its roots and claiming its piece of earth, a stranger that has the ability to help and offers it freely, maybe with something as simple as providing directions.  In these kinds of circumstances, there might be specific reasons why I was so touched, but a lot had to do with ME — and timing. I was ready to receive or take in what was special about the moment.  Think of something you saw or experienced for the first time. Reflect on the experience and write three things about what you saw that made you especially grateful.
