When I was in college, I earned book and beer money by working in the dish room.  I invented a game where I performed a routine task and imagined I was competing at dish washing events, a sort of Olympics, and that made the time go faster. The job almost became enjoyable. When I was a child, my mother used to get me to eat peas, which I hated, by putting them in soup and telling me they were “skin divers.” There are so many examples from my life where playing with something I wasn’t naturally drawn to made it more palatable. Think of a situation in your life where “playing” was behind a solution or your ability to embrace something. Write a few paragraphs about how you came up with an idea and what you might be especially grateful for when you PLAY.
