Place a cherry or a raisin or a small piece of fruit in your mouth. Chew it at least ten times before swallowing it. What do you think about when you take an extra long period of time to swallow one bite? Do you taste it differently? Are you more conscious about what eating means relative to being alive? How can you deliberately slow down some other everyday activity like washing your hands, driving to work, or turning off the lights before leaving your house? What does slowing down make you more aware of? What does slowing down make you more grateful for?
