It’s been a compelling observation to make. As I’ve gotten older, I‘ve assimilated how life is not about me, but my experience is all mine. Things don’t have to benefit me or present themselves as obstacles in order for me to react with elation or disappointment or even sadness.  It’s good to practice not seeing myself as the cause of an event but actively see what positives I can take away. This ability can be a constant source of gratitude for me; to pay attention to positives by intention and to recognize that I own what I feel. I celebrate myself by feeling things thoroughly.  Think of one event that turned out well for you and one event that might have not been something you’d like to repeat. In each case, what did you feel?  What can you take from having had this experience and emotion?
