For mothers and fathers, for grandparents, legacies can be framed in terms of genetic traits or accumulated wealth they can pass on to future generations. For teachers, legacies can be seen in terms of their students’ curiosity and diligence. Premier athletes might be interested in getting an accomplishment into the record books, even though a record will probably be broken one day. Everyone thinks about what they want to be known for. Our legacies might be as simple as being honest or willing to help a neighbor. Our legacies can be simply thought of as our reputations. They might live beyond us and touch a wide circle of people,  Or, our reach might be smaller.  What two or three traits or accomplishments of yours would you most like to think will be remembered?  What would you like your legacy to be?  That can provide clues on what you’re grateful for.
