Have you ever thought about what you want to leave behind? Not just from the previous year. What do you want to leave behind after your life? Maybe you want to be sure your children and family will be comfortable financially, but in many ways your legacy is mostly about the example of your life; what you cared about and what you hope others might value. Think of three qualities or traits that are important to you and why.  For me, I might consider appreciation, empathy and self-forgiveness to be among the qualities I want my life to be about. I am grateful when I take time to appreciate what is unique about what I encounter, my capacity to extend empathy, which I believe is fundamental to compassion, and when I forgive myself of times when results might have fallen short of expectations. I am grateful when I can see related moments in my life and like to think I might inspire others to adopt these qualities.
