Journalism students are taught to make sure important details of a story appear prominently so that readers can get the gist of things quickly. They are taught to make sure to answer the Who, What, and Where of things. A fundamental aspect of mindful living is asking yourself questions in order to identify what is important to you and where you’re likely to find those things so you can put yourself in position to experience the things you most enjoy or care about. Think about something that made you feel great. What kinds of questions did you ask yourself to get the core of why that thing lifts your outlook? Is it the company, who you share certain experiences with? The feeling of doing something you’re good at? Something else? These types of questions will help you put together you own list of personal gratitude themes.
