While children are growing up, their parents will often pick a spot on a wall at home and mark off their height at different ages. It can be fun to look at a doorway and see how a whole family of siblings might measure up at different ages, their names penciled in next to short horizontal lines. Consider an aspect of your life. Perhaps you can look at how many sit-ups you can do, or reaching a goal weight on a diet, or how many states (or countries) you’ve visited, or how many volunteer hours you’ve offered to a favorite organization.  What type of milestones can mark your progress in one of these areas?  Do you remember feeling grateful when you reached this mark?
